HEALTH ISSUES
As a result of a topic addressed in the refinishing course presented at the convention, the following
questions along with an explanation of what was stated , has been forwarded to: OSHA, FDA and to AMA.
The questions are as follows:
- What happens when the fumes from the varnishes, shellacs, lacquers and nitrocellulose lacquers (solvent chemicals) are released into the air?
- What happens when the fumes from the varnishes, shellacs, nitrocellulose lacquers and lacquers enter the lungs?
- Is it true that the newer products (environment," safe products"low VOC, volatile organic compound), are still
- polluting the air, but to a lesser amount and how much less?
- Are these new VOC products, more dangerous to inhale?
- Is it true that our bodies are not able to dispel the poly-resin chemicals ("low voc " products)?
- Is it true that our bodies are able to break down the solvent chemicals and dispel them from the body?
- Have there been any test to see what the long term effects of the toxins have on our bodies?
- What are the long term effects on our bodies after these non-dispelling chemicals have accumulated?

CAUTION: all users of odorless products, water base products, and any product that the odor has been altered , you may be in much greater risk of toxicity from inhaling these products and until these questions are answered, please take every precaution not to inhale or have these products come in direct contact with your skin.
