MESSAGE FROM THE FOUNDER

MISSION STATEMENT

"It is the mission of the AOR, Association of Restorers Inc™ to increase the awareness of choice to conserve, refurbish or restore historical works of art, household furnishings and architectural constructions. Through education and networking the best method will be selected to enhance, stabilize and return a piece to its original beauty, use or condition."

MESSAGE
The AOR does not set standards; information and education will be available to the restorer who wishes to advance their knowledge into the many facets of restoration/conservation. It is an arena where all voices can be heard. It does not sponsor any one supplier or service; all products and materials will be searched out. It does not direct anyone to a correct way, a way that should be done; options and information are given so the restorer can choose the best way to be of service to his or her customers.

I would like to see the principles upon which the AOR&CCA, Association of Restorers and Council of Craftsmen & Artists was founded to be carried forward. The AOR has been well seated in these values and has become recognized in the industry as a resource for finding restorers and for receiving information and education. It is information that the AOR has to offer.

Without the AOR, the industry would still be in the dark ages with everyone reinventing the wheel. It has made monumental steps in bridging information from the novice to the expert

.

I hope to become more involved with its activities in 2004; there still is so much ground to cover. My best wishes to all the members for great fun times for the holidays (we all need to take a break) and a peaceful and prosperous New Year!
